The following are samples of some of the video work I’ve done over the past few years – corporate, personal, or otherwise.
Corporate Samples
Susan Butler, Surgical Assistant
This was part of a sixteen-video package I produced for Implant Dental in Plattsburgh, New York in 2018 while under contract with Einstein Medical. The videos were meant to showcase the impeccable design of the building, their in-house training center, and focus on the compassionate individuals on their team. All footage and stills were captured and edited by René Guerrero.
Heartland Fertility Webstory
A comprehensive video from another package produced for Einstein Medical, this web-story was meant to stand as a visual mission statement from the compassionate individuals at Heartland Fertility in Omaha, Nebraska. The goal was to introduce the managing staff members, highlight a number of couples/clients with positive taking points, and feature the emotional complexity of the infertility treatment process. The entire package was produced, and all footage captured and edited by René Guerrero.
True & Dorin Webstory
This was part of another video package I produced for True & Dorin, an exclusive hair restoration clinic located in Manhattan, NYC, in 2014 as a freelance camera op/editor for Einstein Medical. The objective again was to produce a four to five- minute mission statement video for the company’s website redesign. All footage was shot and edited by René Guerrero.
Key-Whitman Eye Center
The client commissioned a short promotional video from Cinsay, Inc., a marketing media start-up based in Dallas in 2012. The goal was to shoot a very conservative footage that would showcase the client’s managing partners and feature a new Facebook interactive page. Produced, shot, and edited for web distribution by René Guerrero.
Delta Charlie’s
Another client of Cinsay, Inc., this client offered an entertainment flight service through a local airport in Dallas. The client wanted to showcase the bar/restaurant location as well as feature their air tours over downtown Dallas. Produced, directed, shot, and edited for web distribution by René Guerrero.
Communities in Schools
New Year’s Eve Fundraiser– Local Dallas non-profit Communities in Schools commissioned me to create this video as an archive of their New Year’s Eve fundraiser. They wanted a fun, over-the-top look that would showcase the spectacle of all three big bands in an elegant setting. I was the sole camera operator on the project and edited the piece myself in glorious standard definition.
Music Samples
Hunter Sullivan – In the Blink of an Eye
This song was recorded by Hunter Sullivan in 2015. The client wanted to incorporate archival footage from his childhood along with new footage to produce a viable edit of the song. I shot the new clips and edited the piece into its final format.
Zack King Band
This was another Cinsay, Inc. project produced for the Zack King Band and was meant to be embedded in their on-line store. The script had been written by the executive producer, but once on set, the talent was having problems recreating the written action. In post, I decided to use their indecision as the crux of the piece to make them seem human and very accessible to their audience. Produced, directed, and edited by René Guerrero.
Adrian Younge
While on assignment with Wheelhouse Marketing and PR, I shot a series of 12 interviews with the bands at the 2013 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Tx. Wheelhouse wanted a swaggering hand-held look to the videos that would appear hip and cool for a college-age audience. I shot camera for all the interviews and the live segments.
Bad Things
While on assignment with Wheelhouse Marketing and PR, I shot a series of 12 interviews with the bands at the 2013 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Tx. “Dr. Doctor”
This is the full-length music video I shot and edited for the Scott McCurry Band through Barking Harley Productions.
Personal Samples
2D Graphics Demo 2015
This is a collection of some of the 2D graphics I custom designed for my Einstein Medical clients from November 2013 through May 2015. I shot all the live footage myself and utilized the clients’ individual logos and royalty-free photography to create a showcase of these opening sequences that were meant for web distribution.
Animation Demo Photoshop Week Promo
(new motion graphics demo)
This is actually my short version of a promo CreativeLive posted in January to promote their Photoshop Week of free on-line classes. My goal was to mimic the motion graphics of the piece to use as an example of some of the text animation I am currently doing on my own. It’s a little glitchy but for the most part shows what I’m capable of on my small home system.
Demo Reel 2005 Redeux
This reel from 2005 features clips of a regional show for WFAA called ‘Grin and Barrett’, a music video shot & edited for the Scott McCurry band, an animated corporate teaser, a snippet from the documentary “Extreme Orchestra!”, and a moment from a short horror film I directed, shot, and edited in 2008 called “The Enigmatic Conception”.
Miasma Filmgroup Promo
This was a fun promotional piece I did to showcase my approach to 2D motion graphics for my own company, Miasma, in 2006. A quirky piece of standard definition goodness…
“Extreme Orchestra!” Trailer
My company, Miasma Filmgroup, produced a feature-length documentary highlighting the opening season of the Fort Smith, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. I was the sole cameraman on this project and edited the piece in its entirety. This is the trailer I cut specifically for web advertising on the symphony website.
D-Town James
This video was created as a spec piece to pitch the concept of a locally-produced arts and entertainment show to Dallas investors. I was commissioned as Camera 1 Operator, shot 90% of all the footage, designed the lower-thirds and title graphics, and edited the piece in its entirety in standard Definition.
The Enigmatic Conception
In 2005, I had the pleasure of directing a short horror film from a student script for the filmmaking class at the KD Studios as a guest instructor. I produced, directed, lit, and shot this piece during two three-hour class visits, utilizing the students as my crew and instructing the class on the filmmaking process during the production. This final edit, which I also cut, was featured in the 2006 Dallas Video Festival.
